Courtney Barnett plays a sold-out show at the Observatory North Park Wednesday.

It was just a few years ago when Courtney Barnett was playing her first show at the Casbah. I had the opportunity to interview her before the show and I remember that I told her off camera that it wouldn't be long before she was selling out the North Park Theatre. Tonight, she's doing that very thing, though now, of course, we know it as the Observatory North Park. The Aussie indie-rocker is one of the best wordsmiths writing music today and it's no surprise to see her star continuing to rise. If you're heading to the show, get there in time for Waxahatchee. If you didn't score tickets, fret not, because we've got Irish rockers the Coronas at the Casbah, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong at the Belly Up, and British alt-rockers Ulrika Spacek at Soda Bar.
