It's no secret that I'm not a fan of big shows. I don't like arenas, I don't like 'sheds,' I don't like stadiums. But when you love a band and you missed their only ever Casbah show more than a decade earlier, you have to see them where they play. Over time that has been Spreckels, Hollywood Bowl, and the amphitheatre in Chula Vista. So am I thrilled Arcade Fire is playing in a basketball arena? Not really. But I'm going to go, and I'm going to love it, and I'm going to ignore all of the people who bitch and moan about the sound or the band or their attitudes or whatever. Let me enjoy this show. And if not, then go see the Allah-Las at Music Box or the Strypes at Casbah, or the awesome Said the Whale at Space. But if you don't have anything nice to say about Arcade Fire at Viejas Arena, don't say anything at all. At least not to me.
