The Shakedown opened in early September, but as most new business are wont to do, they wanted to make sure they had a smooth running bar with the right staff and the right decor to insure the success of the bar -- the "soft opening," if you will. The owners have been pleased with business so far and are celebrating this weekend with their official grand opening. If you haven't checked out the spot, it's in the location formerly occupied by the Rhythm Lounge. The bar is edgier than most; in fact, I'm pretty confident I'm one of the few people to set foot inside who doesn't have any ink, but they welcome me just the same. Tonight, Lee Ving will be headlining. It's a rare opportunity to see the 60-year-old punk rock legend in a small club and will surely be a memorable night.
