    John Hancock
Singer/songwriter Shawn Colvin plays the Belly Up on Tuesday.

It's Tuesday night and there's so much in the world that can make you want to hide under the covers, but there's also ways to find joy in crazy times. I think about "Riding Shotgun Down the Avalanche." The first time I heard the song, it was released on some free compilation I picked up somewhere or other and it made me fall in love with the music of Shawn Colvin. I haven't necessarily followed every step of her career, though I have made the effort to see her several times, and tonight she will certainly bring some magic to the Belly Up with her sold-out show celebrating the 20th Anniversary of "A Few Small Repairs." If indie-pop is calling your name, head to House of Blues to catch Coast Modern, see Texan folk-punk act Escape From the Zoo at Soda Bar, and Canadian indie-rockers Walter TV play a special show at Blonde.
