Trampled Under Foot By Deerhoof

Deerhoof grazes into the Irenic for an all-ages show

Tonight is a flashback kind of Sunday. For a long time, touring bands would hit other cities - Los Angeles, San Francisco - or even Vegas - on Friday and Saturday, so they'd end up playing San Diego on Sunday, and there would just be too many great shows to choose from. Tonight, it definitely feels like that's happened again.

Here's the rundown - San Francisco's Deerhoof will be at the Irenic for an all ages show, while Soda Bar hosts Paul Wolfe. Atlas Genius is good, but with their support lineup of Family of the Year and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., tonight's House of Blues show will be great. Then there's the Casbah, which will let you choose between their shows with Shannon and the Clams at the Void, the 1975 at the Belly Up, Narrows at the Casbah itself, or dreamy Diego Garcia at the Griffin, which is where you'll find me. It is kind of bittersweet, as we all want this city to grow and expand, particularly when it comes to live music, but some of these shows going head-to-head will certainly lead to having to miss out on other good ones.
