Time to Help Out a Cool Kat

Last week, we told you about a benefit for longtime Belly Up employee Kat Mills, who was hospitalized for heart failure due to a congenital disease. Tonight is the night of that benefit, and, along with supporting a great person, you can check out some fantastic bands and bid in the silent auction, which has amassed some amazing donations. If you can't make the benefit but would like to help, please make checks out to Kat Mills -- attention Meryl -- c/o Belly Up, 143 South Cedros, Solana Beach CA 92075.

For those of you in the southern part of the county, you're going to want to be at Tin Can tonight for Mini Mansions -- read our preview blog here -- which features Michael Shuman of Queens of the Stone Age. The band has received rave reviews by the usual indie-blog suspects, and you'll appreciate seeing this band in one of the quaintest venues in San Diego. Get there early for Street of Little Girls, the Kabbs and D/Wolves.
