I love my indie music, and as a teen loved my alternative and college rock, but there was this time in between, when I was playing soccer at my international university, among players from all over the world, but mostly Latin-American countries, and they were obsessed with their rock en Espanol. I, too, became obsessed. So when I saw that Moenia was playing House of Blues tonight, I couldn't help but flash back to all those great years, listening to the band's CDs on repeat. Tonight, they open for Grammy-winning Mexican pop act Belanova, and it promises to be quite a party. Meanwhile, it's all trap at SOMA with RL Grime, deejay Deorro plays the Observatory, and electro-funk husband-and-wife duo the ATX play Soda Bar. This is statistically the biggest drinking night of the year, so whatever you do or wherever you go, be safe. We're taking a day off from listings on Thanksgiving since only the Whistle Stop, the Ken Club, and a few other spots are open, but we'll be back with your show listings on Friday.
