If I'm not mistaken, the last time Warpaint was in town was 2014. They played the North Park Theatre and I recall being blown away by their performance. Things are so different today than just two years ago, but even so, I think you'll once again be blown away. Their new single, "New Song," is super catchy and reminds me of '80s girl bands like the Bangles or Bananarama, but without being kitchsy or nauseatingly nostalgic. If you don't have plans, these ladies for sure deserve your attention. Around town, hoever, Red Fang gets together for a pinball shindig at Brick By Brick before their sold-out Casbah show (read our SoundDiego interview with the band here), Radkey slay Soda Bar, and locals Paper Forest play Blonde.
