There are some super special shows coming up this month at the Belly Up...bands that are so famous it's kind of ridiculous that they're playing such a relatively intimate venue, but sadly they're sold out, including tonight's show -- the first of two nights with the B-52s. Get on their email list so you don't miss out on the big ones. Meanwhile, the Casbah welcomes Jolie Holland and Samantha Parton, two founding members of the Be Good Tanyas, and La Santa Cecilia and Mexrissey join forces for a Dia de Los Muertos celebration at Balboa Theatre. Southern rapper Yelawolf is at the Observatory, A Giant Dog plays Soda Bar, and Museum of Making Music hosts the strange bedfellows of Malian harp master Ballaké Sissoko and French cellist Vincent Ségal, who recently released a record together.
