Sounds Like San Diego: November 19

Oh, man. I know we have great music in San Diego just about every night, but some shows are announced and you just can't wait until the day comes when the band finally arrives to perform. Such is the case for Chvrches. The sold-out show at House of Blues promises to be a great one, after the band's earlier appearance this year at the Belly Up. Back then, they had a couple singles released, but their EP hadn't even dropped. Now with an EP and finally a full-length album under their belt\, this independent band is truly a success story. The female vocals are strong and powerful, and Lauren Mayberry deserves even more respect after a great op-ed in The Guardian about mysogyny on the Internet after revealing that she still handles all of the band's social media -- including fending off the trolls with nothing nice to say. This is certainly going to be a great show, and the chances of finding last-minute tickets are slim to none, but there will certainly be some happy fans after the show. If you don't get tickets, a little birdie tells me the band will be back in December performing in a very large venue where more people will be able to witness the magic.
