This is going to be an awesome weekend of music, so put on your party shoes and get ready for some fun times out. Deer Tick is in town at the Belly Up and the Front Bottoms play House of Blues but both shows are sold out so you'll have to check out some alternatives if you didn't grab tickets. Or if you really want to catch the Front Bottoms, try to catch their afternoon in-store at M-Theory. My pick, of course, is the Heavy Guilt at the Casbah, who are celebrating their record release. From the first time I met Erik and Al while they busked in front of Soda Bar, I was a fan, and I'm so encouraged that they came back after a such a long hiatus because the San Diego music scene is better for having them. If you're looking for a night of punk, head to Brick By Brick for D.R.I., and Minneapolis hip-hop artist Astronautilus plays at Soda Bar.
