Sounds Like San Diego: November 1

The best singer/songwriters have a great story. Joe Pug's story is an interesting one: Quitting school before his senior year of college, he packed up and left the day before the new semester and headed to Chicago, where he was a carpenter by day and tooling around with an old guitar at night. His music was noticed quite quickly, and his popularity has grown from the word-of-mouth and free CD samplers that he send out for free. Pug appears tonight at the Loft at UCSD. Get there early, because Josh Damigo is making an appearance, too. Damigo was recently flown out to the Pentagon for a screening of a new HBO documentary featuring his brother. Make sure you ask him about it.
