San Diego Music Thing is in full swing, so hopefully you got out yesterday for some of the interesting panels, the hilarious keynote with Martin Atkins, and some incredible shows by the likes of Yo La Tengo and AA Bondy, to name just a couple. Tonight is filled with more showcases including Matthew Logan Vasquez, the main voice of Delta Spirit for a decade, who has decided to strike out on his own at this juncture of his career. He'll be headlining the Irenic. Meanwhile, Album Leaf is performing at the Casbah, and they'll be joined by Ilya, who has claimed that this will be the band's final performance ever. Born Ruffians take the headline spot at Soda Bar, Paper Kites are at Bar Pink (which is sold out of individual showcase tickets), Inspired and the Sleep headline the Merrow and Swingin' Utters get punky at the Hideout. If you're not doing SDMT, catch Tokimonsta at the Observatory, Mayhem at Brick By Brick, or the Ataris at Tango Del Rey.
