Sounds Like San Diego: May 3

They Might Be Giants head up a night of options for live music in San Diego

You would think that after so many great consecutive shows the past week that we might hit a lull, but that day is not today. For vinyl enthusiasts and audiophiles, today is the first ever all-ages Vinyl Junkies Record Swap. Typically held at the Casbah, this is the first time all the vendors are venturing to the Epicentre to sell their wax. I hear DJ Artistic is giving free DJ lessons, which is worth the $3 entry alone. By nightfall it will be hard to decide where to commit because on the one hand, you have the always awesome They Might Be Giants at the Belly Up, but on the other hand, there's a free residency with Golden Coast at the Merrow. Said to be LA's "Next Big Thing," I'm definitely about seeing bands as they're starting to get their footing. Tonight is also La Escalera Records 4th Anniversary, which is no small feat. A grip of bands are playing including Vena Cava, which hasn't happened in a while. So, yeah. Sunday Funday. Lots of options. Go get some.
