It's Cinco de Mayo weekend, and there's plenty of cool stuff going on around town to help you forget just how uncomfortable the head can be. Dan Croll will be sweating it out at a sold-out show at the Casbah, but Bar Pink has Say Say and Hills Like Elephants, and Soda Bar has some punk, and both bars keep it cool with their air conditioners blasting. If you're looking for a big show, try the House of Blues for the annual SRH fest, with the best in local surf, skate and punk culture in their stylings and their musical spectrum. We think there are plenty of other reasons to get out and enjoy the scene on Saturday, but maybe you just want to hit up one of the pool parties in the daytime, and that's OK, too.
