Angelic Upstarts rock the Casbah Wednesday.

Let's go back in time, shall we? Anyone who loves punk rock knows that 1977 is widely considered the most meaningful year for punk and new wave, as people were fed up with disco and punk really made a splash in the U.K., New York, San Francisco, and all over. Angelic Upstarts formed in that year and their political charge made them standouts among their British peers. Tonight, Angelic Upstarts rock the Casbah with the Briefs and Social Spit and it's gonna be good and stinky. Meanwhile, Voodoo Room at House of Blues is gonna be fire tonight with a co-headline show featuring Smallpools and Great Good Fine OK. Experimental chamber orchestra Ghost Ensemble play at La Jolla Athenaeum, the James Hunter Six headline the Belly Up, and Sango tests the limits of the no-dancing policy at the Observatory North Park. If you're a musician yourself, tonight is your chance to join Rock Lotto at Bar Pink -- where you enter your name in a hat and get matched up with other musicians to form a one-month band that performs at the next one.
