Hip-hop artist Devin the Dude, who will perform tonight at the Casbah, may be under the radar by popular music standards, but part of what makes him so cool is not that his word-of-mouth underground stylings have garnered him pompous raves but, rather, that he has grown a loyal fan base by created consistent body of work. He's gone the way of many musicians in giving up on the major label system and has his own label to release his work. If hip-hop isn't your flavor, Soda Bar has a solid indie show, Eleven has a banger of locals, and you can always trust Stevie and the Hi-Stax to get you shaking off the Mondays over at Bar Pink.
