Death Eyes headline Casbah on Monday, May 21.

Between bands coming off of SxSW and Coachella, the past couple of months have brought seemingly endless touring acts to town, but as we move into Memorial Day weekend, expect to see fewer big tours and more dance and DJ nights around town. Not to say there aren't worthy shows, but perhaps it's a good time to get reacquainted with your local music scene. Metal and burl fans will love Death Eyes tonight at Casbah, while fans of a more garage-rock sound will appreciate the Slashes at Soda Bar. Though Trevor Hall sounds homegrown with his mix of folky roots rock and reggae, he's actually from South Carolina, and he appears tonight at the Observatory. Tennis System perform live at Blonde, and Whitney Shay plays her heart out at Humphreys Backstage. It's a quieter night than usual, but still fun if you know where to find it.
