Sounds Like San Diego: May 19

Tuesday's flying fast with Speedy Ortiz and Glass Animals playing in San Diego

There are some seriously great shows on Tuesday night that makes it hard to believe it's so early in the week. At the Observatory, Glass Animals perform to a sold-out crowd after their recent performances at Coachella. The Oxford band released their debut last summer and sold out their Observatory show in record time, which was a little surprising to me because they're not exactly a commercial radio act, but they're awesome nonetheless, and I for one am really excited for the show. Meanwhile at Soda Bar, Massachusetts band Speedy Ortiz return to San Diego. Great writing chops and strong female-fronted vocals make this a definite must-see band. Casbah keeps it local with Bang Pow, and Seven Grand and the Hideout offer cool lineups -- even Bar Pink gets into the live music mix tonight.
