Sounds Like San Diego: May 13

One thing I've been hearing a lot lately is how happy people in San Diego are that the Casbah has upped its game with respect to hip-hop. There have been several hip-hop shows recently -- shows that once upon a time, perhaps, would have been booked at House of Blues or the long-defunct Cane's. On Tuesday, People Under the Stairs return to the Casbah, and while there are some tickets left for the show, there aren't too many, so you should certainly grab yours online if you're planning on experiencing the great music these guys bring to the stage. If hip-hop isn't your thing, Soda Bar has you covered for rock; House of Blues has Catherine Beek's Local Brews, Local Grooves; and El Dorado brings back Mattson 2uesdays.

    Tuesday, May 13:

    • People Under the Stairs, Joint Response, DJ Gar Gar, NN$ @ Casbah
    • Tiki Tuesday @ Bar Pink
    • NYPC (New Young Pony Club), We Are Sirens, Midnight Faces @ Soda Bar
    • Local Brews, Local Grooves, featuring Pharmacy, Juju Satori, Open for Business, Torrey Mercer, Pat Hilton @ House of Blues
    • Lindsey Stirling, Dia Frampton @ Humphrey's Concerts By the Bay
