Sounds Like San Diego: March 2

San Diego, we've got a blockbuster Thursday night ahead for live music

I cannot tell a lie: If someone walked up to me and handed me Stevie Nicks tickets, I would surely find a way to make it work with my life and schedule. No doubt the Fleetwood Mac vocalist and solo artist is a living legend and everyone should fully embrace this as the must-see show of the night. However, tickets for a show like hers take a lot of scratch and some of us need to live within our means. In which case, you have some solid runner-ups, as the Wood Brothers bring the Newport Folk Fest vibe to the Observatory North Park, up-and-comers and the punny named Hippo Campus play House of Blues, and Death Valley Girls drop in on the Hideout. There's also a TNT (Thursday Night Thing) tonight at MCASD downtown, and we haven't seen one of those in ages. But the one I'm most excited about it Mondo Cozmo. I don't know a whole lot about the artist, but what I do know is that from the first time I heard "Shine" on satellite radio, I was completely hooked, and while only a few tracks have been released, the artist is already onboard to open for Bastille's nationwide tour and several festival stops. Catch him before he's too big to play the Casbah.
