I was asked to sell merchandise for Rocket From the Crypt at today's Oysterfest and it got me thinking how funny life can be. When I was 16 or so, my friends and I ditched school so we could go to the filming of "MTV Spring Break" in Mission Bay. I got front-row seats to the two-episode taping of "The Jon Stewart Show" and the musical guests were the Lemonheads on one, and Rocket From the Crypt for the other. That day kinda changed my life, and now to know them, to see them, to work for them, is pretty darn cool. Incidentally, I've also worked for Ghostland Observatory and they're going to be an amazing headliner once the sun drops. Around town, JMSN is at the Casbah, Merchandise drops into Space Bar, and the Black Lips' Saint Pe plays the Whistle Stop.
