It isn't often that the majority of music options occur downtown, but on Thursday night there are enough special shows going on that I'll say you might want to catch a cab to downtown and plan on hopping around from space to space. Starting with an all-ages show, Sezio is back at the Luce Loft with a special evening with the Tree Ring. Fronted by Joel P. West, the band will be performing music from its forthcoming album and the space is intimate. The show is at 7 p.m, so once it's done, you can wander over to El Dorado to catch the Blackout Party or over to Mary Jane's Underground at the Hard Rock Hotel for a set by Bunny Gang and Hills Like Elephants. If downtown is too much, take a short jaunt to Banker's Hill for Tan Sister Radio or head to the wwwwww.casbahmusic.com for Hawthorne Heights.
