Sounds Like San Diego: June 19

Shamir, Stars and more head up your Tuesday night live-music action

The Get Up Kids have long been sold out at the Casbah, but you also have the Belly Up, where Montreal indie-pop act Stars play tonight. Their sweet vocals and catchy tunes will certainly have you tapping your feet-- and if you've been a fan over their nearly 20-year career-- you'll be feeling nostalgic for sweeter times. The surprise news of this show is that Shamir is opening. The Las Vegas rapper is an amazing live performer and I was afraid he wouldn't come back after disappointing attendance at his last show here, so get there early to catch him. Around town, Golden Hour play Tim Pyle's showcase at the Merrow, Big Buddy headline Che Cafe, and Whitney Shay plays at Humphreys Backstage Live.
