Some music loves last a lifetime, and so it is for me with Evan Dando and the Lemonheads. From the time I was a pre-teen, I was hooked to the moody, punky "Lick," then a fan through every iteration from major label releases to the jangly guitars and the indie-folk stuff -- even the covers Mr. Dando so often dismisses. I've had my chances to hang out with him several times over the years and to be concerned about various levels of inebriation through his well-documented drug use. Tonight, Evan Dando plays the Casbah in celebration of 14 years since his first solo release, "Baby I'm Bored." This is a deep love of a musician's life's work that I'm not alone in admiring, and there are still tickets available to catch him. Meanwhile, around town, Bad Suns play the Observatory, Pine Mountain Logs return to the Belly Up and Buckfast Superbee headline a show at Soda Bar. For a special one-time show, the Neighborhood is having a block party (celebrating 10 years as it turns out) with a performance by Talib Kweli in downtown.
