Sounds Like San Diego: June 14

I know that some people would like to believe that I have an encyclopedic knowledge of music, but the truth is that, in this age where we can find anything we want at any time, sometimes I just read a wiki to try to fit in and feel what everyone else is feeling. Last night I ran into a friend who couldn't wait to see Motion City Soundtrack at the Casbah, and when I told her that the show wasn't sold-out, she didn't believe me. I was just happy that the Henry Clay People were coming back, so I guess that shows how in tune I am with the pop-punk scene.

Another friend asked if I would be at Soda Bar for Here We Go Magic. Every once in a while I work at the Soda Bar, but when I asked if they might need me, they suggested that they needed someone with a "Guard Card," which can only lead me to believe that this show might get a little rowdy, but only in a good way.

My other friends asked if I would be at Van Halen. Van Huh? I guess I was in an in-between generation that never cared who was at the lead -- it just wasn't my thing. But if you are a Van Halen fan, the things I'm reading tell me that you should definitely go to this show on this tour. You'll see everything you want and perhaps even fall in love with the new material. Just make sure you stick around to hear it and don't use the new music for bathroom and beer breaks. Things have gotten so much better in the last thirty years all around, and you should be receptive to enjoy all of it.
