There are some seriously great shows tonight, so you're not going to want to sit this night out, even if you can't be in multiple places at once. Sunflower Bean is back at the Che Cafe for a headlining spot, though they're also already announced to support Interpol later this fall. The interesting and oddball Reptaliens from Portland are back, too, and this time they're headlining after recently opening for shows with Cults and Strfkr. And speaking of Cults, the Cult play the San Diego County Fair and the Calling are at Belly Up. My ultimate pick, however, is Olden Yolk tonight at Whistle Stop. The New York-based group, described as "whispy folk pop" by the tastemakers at Stereogum, are on their first full nationwide tour, and they're joined by Mega Bog and Bit Maps, so it should be an indie lover's perfect midweek dream.
