San Diego has a history with the Hold Steady. From the Casbah, to House of Blues, and even as a headlining act of FM 94/9's anniversary show, the band has always been embraced by local fans and the radio community. After an absence that probably seemed longer than it actually was, the band re-emerged earlier this year with a new record, and sought an even bigger audience when they performed at Sunset Sessions to film and radio music supervisors. We happened to speak with the band and see their performance and we think tonight's site at the Belly Up just might have them at their best.
