There are hundreds of amazing tours that come to San Diego, but one that I've been looking forward to all summer is the Decemberists at Humphreys. Colin Meloy and crew don't come around a whole lot, but he is definitely one of the elder statesmen of indie rock, with such a distinct voice and a catalog that I personally go back to over and over again. Tonight, I would suspect we get a great retrospective as well as tunes from their latest effort, "I'll Be Your Girl," which is full of great cuts that are both cathartic and inviting of mass singalongs. Around town, the Modern Appliances play Soda Bar, Zac Najor makes an appearance at Bar Pink and Tower Bar welcomes Esther Martinez. In case you're wondering, tonight's Casbah show is canceled due to some SDG&E maintenance in the area that might cause some outages.
