The last time I caught Jenny & the Mexicats was a total fluke. I'd read a little about them but hadn't really listened but it was a rare night off for my partner and I, and we were looking for something to do, and naturally, I just don't think you can go wrong with the Casbah. We were blown away. It kinda reminded me of seeing No Doubt in the early '90s, not necessarily stylistically, although the horn elements are there, but just the way "Jenny" commands the stage and the audience is incredibly intoxicating. We couldn't take our eyes off the stage and ended up listening to their recorded music for the subsequent few days and weeks and are excited that they're already back so soon. You want to see this show, though it might be hard because we adore Dent May so much, too. Tough call. But my feeling is, catch this one at the small venue while you can.
