Comic-Con is here and I couldn't be more excited. Sure, I enjoy going to the Convention Center and seeing all the cool stuff, but the thing I really love is the thousands of out-of-towners who visit San Diego to see just how amazing our city is, and that it's for a non-sporting event makes me all the happier. After preview night, you can explore San Diego's music scene with tons of great shows. CeeLo Green is at Belly Up for the second night and Kiiara plays a sold-out show at the Casbah. I would be thrilled to catch OMD as they open for Barenaked Ladies at Open Air Theatre, and Tacocat (the coolest palindrome band name ever) play at Soda Bar. I, however, will be catching the Joy Formidable at the Irenic. The all-ages show starts and ends early, so I might even head back downtown afterward to check out the action.
