Sounds Like San Diego: July 16

If you want to be confronted with some kick-ass punk rock, In the Whale at Casbah is your show

Remember when every indie band had a wolf name? Then there were rabbits. Well, forgive me if I sometimes confuse them all, including the whale bands. Said the Whale and Or, the Whale come to mind, but they're not even in the same genre as In the Whale, so it should be noted that if you want to be confronted with some kick-ass punk rock, In the Whale at the Casbah on Monday night is your show. Around town, musician and actor Billy Bob Thornton performs at the Belly Up, Soda Bar welcomes Facs and San Diego Freak Out always bring a big party wherever they drop in, including tonight's event at Bar Pink.

Monday, July 16:

  • In the Whale, Parade of Horribles, Bosswitch @ Casbah
  • Billy Bob Thornton & the Boxmasters @ Belly Up
  • Facs (ex-Disappears), Exasperation @ Soda Bar
  • Abolitionist, the Midnight Block, Abortz @ Tower Bar
  • San Diego Freakout presents Chyurch with Mikey and Andrew @ Bar Pink
  • Electric Waste Band @ Winston's
  • Makossa Mondays with DJ Tah Rei @ Seven Grand
  • Blue Monday: Dark New Wave @ Blonde
  • Sam Bybee @ De Oro Mine Co.
  • Andy Anderson & Nathan Fry @ Martini's Above Fourth
