Sounds Like San Diego: July 10

Counting Crows celebrate 25 years of touring with a blockbuster show in Chula Vista Tuesday

If you knew me in high school, you would know that I wasn't just a fan of Counting Crows -- I was obsessed. "August and Everything After" pretty much soundtracked my life, and those songs still mean a lot to me when I hear them. Tonight's show at Mattress Firm Amphitheatre is certainly going to bring that same nostalgia for throngs of fans of the Crows (and of Live as well), as Adam Duritz and crew celebrate 25 years of touring. If you're into finding new music though, Casbah is your spot. Castlecomer is an up-and-coming alt-rock band from down under, and without any significant radio support, they're counting on word of mouth to find their fans -- so you should give them a listen. Lastly, if you appreciate experimental and artsy rock, Joan of Arc is your show at Soda Bar, and with Rob Crow opening, you're certain to be delighted with a one-of-a-kind experience.
