Sounds Like San Diego: January 11

The Jayhawks head up the Belly Up Sunday night

Tonight is a great night to get out after you're all finished binge-watching the pigskin on your couch all day. There are some great shows, including the Darlings at Soda Bar and Flesh Eaters at Casbah, but probably your best concert bet is with the Jayhawks at the Belly Up. The band, who since their inception have firmly established themselves as one of the best in the alt-country genre, recently reissued all of their albums, so you can be sure to hear all of your favorites spanning their musical career. And, while SoundDiego is about music, I'd still like to give a special shout out to the Irenic, who tonight host comedian Tig Notaro, who is at the top of her game and one of the most relevant comedians on tour today.
