Sounds Like San Diego: February 4

Bar Pink, the Casbah, the Griffin, Soda Bar and other local venues have been getting into band residencies with more regularity than ever. As a fan of music, particularly new and independent music, you should translate these as endorsements from the top talent buyers in the market. My other job makes me privy to discussions with Tim Mays of the Casbah and I can tell you that he is really excited about this month, with three of the four Mondays devoted to a residency with Sir Sly. I have yet to see the band and have decided to go in blindly, trusting Mr. Mays as the tastemaker that he is and planning on some exceptional Mondays this month at the Casbah. Also on the radar this Monday is ZZ Ward and Delta Rae up at the Belly Up, but ticket sales are strong, so grab them before arriving at the venue or they could be sold out.

    • Sir Sly, Kitten, Frank & Derol @ Casbah
    • Casbah presents ZZ Ward, Delta Rae, Martin Harley @ Belly Up
