Sounds Like San Diego: Feb. 3

Dashboard Confessional fans rejoice! The emo-era sing-along juggernaut is back

I'm a little beside myself today. I haven't done an interview for our TV show in quite some time and it was sprung on me last minute that I'll be interviewing Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional. Long lumped into the emo-era of the late '90s and early aughts, Dashboard Confessional have stood the test of time where many others did not, and these days you'll find as many tributes to emo as you will to, say, '80s or '90s bands. DC had taken a hiatus, and Carrabba toured solo under his given name (and in Twin Forks) but now the band is back and ready to ultimately hear their songs sung back to them by a roomful of fans tonight at House of Blues. I will try to quash the fan girl and play it cool. Meanwhile, around town, Metalachi return to the Casbah, Java Joe's celebrates their soft opening at their new location in Old Town, master DJ Z-Trip descends upon Music Box, and Birdy Bardot plays Soda Bar.
