It feels like only a few years ago that I struggled to write about shows at this time of year. Bands are already on the road now, though, with their sights on South By Southwest, and our city sometimes feels like an afterthought. Music is different these days, however, because we can see Ane Brun at the Casbah or check out local bands like River City at Soda Bar or Heavy Guilt at Winston's and still know the night is complete. Whatever your choice this Friday night, there's the potential for some magic to be embraced.
