I think Chicano Batman have been coming to town for four or five years now, and they're definitely a favorite of local talent bookers. They've played more or less all of our music venues at least once, and several of our oddball and one-off festivals, too. The last time I saw them they were the support band, yet the majority of the crowd was there to see them. So, it makes sense that tonight they headline Observatory North Park, and while half the city is knocked out with the flu, I still hope they get the packed house they deserve. They're joined by Hanni El Khatib and Thee Commons, so it's the perfect precursor to New Year's Eve. Meanwhile, the Mattson 2 play their second night at the Casbah, Mac Sabbath and the Dwarves go head to head at Brick by Brick, and Lady Dottie will pack the patio of Park & Rec.
