I've heard of bands taking a break, but 37 years? The short-lived years of San Diego punk band the Dinettes made a huge impression on some notable tastemakers back in 1980, so it was that Bart Mendoza encouraged the band (at least a couple of the members) to reunite for a show earlier this summer, and things clicked to where the band headline tonight at the Casbah. It should be a fun time, whether you're seeing them again after all these years or checking them out for the first time. Meanwhile, the Observatory hosts mysterious EDM producer Malaa, and beachy singer-songwriter Donovon Frankenreiter returns to the Belly Up. The New Year is creeping up on us, so get out and have some fun before the savage weekend begins.
