Sounds Like San Diego: December 23

We're winding down toward Christmas, so there aren't a ton of choices on Sunday night, but if you had the foresight, you snagged your tickets early for the show at the Casbah with X. John Doe and Exene Cervenka have had plenty of time together onstage over the past 30-plus years, but in recent times they've been performing apart, so this is a rare night to catch the band in all its glory. I'm particularly excited about this show because they'll be joined by My Jerusalem, a band I've pushed in this column the two other times they've performed in San Diego in the past couple years. If you weren't able to get your tickets, Mini Death is a viable alternative over at Soda Bar, as is a Cash'd Out Christmas at the Belly Up.

  • X, My Jerusalem @ Casbah (sold out)
  • Mini Death, Dream Buddies, Shiva Trash @ Soda Bar
  • Cash’d Out Christmas, with Total Distortion @ Belly Up (9 p.m.)
