Sounds Like San Diego: Dec. 29

Singer/songwriter Josh Damigo celebrates his birthday with all of SD at Casbah on Monday

I've been writing this column for SoundDiego for several years now. It is impossible to be unbiased after all this time because there are certain people you meet -- people you become friends with -- and you just can't always be objective when your friends are involved. In tonight's case, that's Josh Damigo. He's one of my favorite people in the local music scene. He's talented and affable on stage, takes the time for everyone who comes to see him, works really mind-blowingly hard and is kind and vulnerable even when it works against him to be so. Tonight he celebrates his birthday with a show at the Casbah, and he's put together a lineup that is worthy of your support. If we give back even a sliver of what he gives to the scene, this should be quite a spectacular night.
