There have been some pivotal shows this summer that get extra stars on my calendar. I mean, there are great shows every night of the week, but there are certain ones that stand out that I've been waiting for since their announcement. Kurt Vile at the House of Blues tonight is one of those shows. There's something so cool about the guy, and it's not just his unique vocal delivery or his interesting lyrics, or even the time he told me he could put me on his Coachella guestlist. I think that 'thing' is that he pulls no punches. You know that he is what he is, you know what to expect, and while every record has gems, he just keeps evolving into a better and better musician. His isn't only the great show in town tonight, however. Legends 10,000 Maniacs perform at Belly Up, Ben Sollee is at Soda Bar, and local newbies Skyterra play the Casbah.
