Erasure (Andy Bell pictured) perform at Copley Symphony Hall Wednesday.

When I heard that Erasure was doing a tour that included a stop in San Diego, I got pretty excited. However, the show was announced months and months ago and it sold out almost as quickly. If you're one of the lucky ticketholders for tonight at Copley Symphony Hall, know that you are envied, as the band really takes me back to the early days of "new wave" and "synthpop," but they were, and remain, pioneers and icons for the LGBTQ+ community. For those of us without tickets, we'll have to find our way to the Casbah for LA psych-pop act Mystic Braves, the electronic beats of Mura Masa at the Observatory North Park, or the amazing song-smithing of Two Cow Garage frontman Micah Schnabel at the Merrow.
