Sounds Like San Diego: August 20

Find out who can spark up your Tuesday with pretty indie folk at the Griffin

A few months ago I predicted the inevitable success of Yellow Red Sparks after seeing them live at the Griffin. Perhaps superstardom takes a little longer than I projected, but the good news is you can see this incredible band and their pretty indie folk tunes again at the Griffin. If you appreciate beautiful and layered harmonies, this is the band for you. On the other hand, Tumbleweed Wanderers and Soda Pants are at the Soda Bar, both satisfy the urge to hear rambunctious folk rock -- the kind that makes you stomp your feet and join in on several "heys" and "hos." Maybe the timing will work out and you can catch a little of both.
