Sounds Like San Diego: August 20

This is a story about the guy behind the guy. And the guy behind the girl. Alfred Howard gave up his spoken-word long ago, but words still flow out of the man like you and I exhale carbon dioxide. He is a lyrical master, and tonight, you can see the man behind the words, which are so beautifully performed by Erik Canzona of the Heavy Guilt and Heather Marie of Black Sands, as he pulls on his steel sock, ties a chain around his foot, and stomps his heart out, among other percussion, as both bands perform tonight at Eleven. Around town, there are some other great shows, too, including solid early lineups at Soda Bar and Bar Pink, so maybe, just maybe, you can pull off a triple-header of shows. You can thank me in the morning.
