Sounds Like San Diego: August 2

The hipsters will tell you that the show of the night is Real Estate up at the Belly Up. While the band is certainly on top of its game and will definitely deliver a great show, I'm partial to Thursday's lineup at the Casbah.

Since the day this show was announced, I've been looking forward to this show and it is rare to see such depth in a touring lineup. From the Ozarks, Ha Ha Tonka will kick off the night and could very well be headliners themselves. Cory Chisel & the Wandering Sons have a new record that is absolutely amazing, thanks to Chisel's haunting, heartfelt vocals. In fact, you can see Chisel now before he returns next week to open for Norah Jones at Symphony Hall.

Murder By Death will close out the night, and while their video projections tend to make them difficult to photograph, it certainly enhances the mood of their country-tinged rock & roll. Grab your tickets online because while there are a few left, this show will likely sell out by the time the doors open.
