It doesn't seem possible that the last time I saw Black Kids was at the long-defunct Beauty Bar. Perhaps my memory fails, but it sure has been a while, so needless to say, I'm really excited the band is returning on Thursday for a show at Soda Bar. They hit big right as the indie-electro scene was gushing just a few years back, and I still covet their vinyl when I'm in the need of a happy dance. This will certainly be a fun show. Meanwhile, San Diego was flooded with a lot of acts after their weekend jaunt in San Francisco for Outside Lands, and Woods is one who played one of the many stages and will hit the Casbah on Thursday -- not so much for your happy dance, but for your need for that folk-y, rootsy Americana that is so easy to sway along to. Rounding things out, Danny and the Tramp do a free show at MaryJane's Underground, Death Eyes rock Bar Pink, and Everlast performs at the Belly Up.
