There are certain artists who you can count on like the sun rising in the east and setting in the west. Every summer, Humphreys by the Bay announces its concert schedule listing the no-brainers and loyal returning acts. Every year, Lyle Lovett & His Large Band meet the criteria and deliver beautiful, classic country sounds under the blanket of San Diego's marine layer -- I wish I could say stars, but you know how that is. Regardless, it's going to be a great show with his hilarious storytelling, pretty classics, and new songs thrown in for good measure. Consistency is sometimes really, really nice.
