The Sherlocks headline the Casbah on Saturday, April 28.

Spring has sprung, and while it might already start to feel like summer, we are in the best part of spring before we hit the May gray and June gloom lull. I always kind of mark this time by the arrival of ArtWalk Little Italy, which has grown insanely popular, expanding not only its locations but also the breadth of art, music and vendor offerings. But they're not the only guys in town this weekend, as North County's Pour House, under the guidance of local radio legend Lou Niles, hosts another free In Your Neighborhood Block Party. Adams Avenue will be popping for the Unplugged affair, and Fronterizo Fest continues in Tijuana. By night, anyone who has ever loved Brit Pop, Indie Rock or is vying to catch Arctic Monkeys, should check out the Sherlocks, who just might be following that same trajectory, albeit just really starting to make a mark stateside. Bar Pink hosts locals Death Eyes, Smoking Popes will bring the party to Soda Bar and teenage jazz piano prodigy Joey Alexander plays at Balboa Theatre.
