As Coachella rolls into the second weekend of madness, "Localchella" is winding down, but not without one more huge show to close it out. Tonight you can catch Deerhunter at the Observatory, and heed my advice and ask a bar server if there are any available general admission spots on the newly opened balcony. Around town, things switch back to normal, with amazing locals and touring acts. Casbah has a show with Dead Feather Moon, Music Box brings Mac Sabbath to their largest stage in San Diego yet, and Whistle Stop has a surprise bill of two touring bands. You can probably also expect a lot of tributes to "The Purple One" in the form of DJ and karaoke nights, so keep your ear to the ground...or social media for those.
